The victim was walking on Neighborhood Road in Mastic Beach at around 8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, when he was struck by a dark-colored SUV, Suffolk County Police said.
Instead of stopping and rendering aid, the driver took off heading southbound on Flower Road.
The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Investigators released surveillance images showing the SUV believed to be involved in the crash.
